NAVIGATION
Navigation allows you to travel with ease with any vehicle or mount. Learn the art of travelling and cartography, and choose one or many types of vehicles or mounts to master. The navigator is able to move through the vestige more efficiently than any other character.
SKILLS
1. Cartographer
Prerequisites: navigation level 1
You are able to map out explored places and make the most out of your maps. When using a map to navigate, you can roll the dice to see if you find an area of interest. Usually these areas will be small and hidden away, but may lead to something special for the party (at the GM’s discretion). The DC for this roll is 8. This can be attempted every day.
2. Traveller
Prerequisites: navigation level 1
You are able to foresee danger and approximate travel time when travelling in a common or familiar place. You can roll to determine the common dangers of any chosen route. Some information might include hostile forces, the quickest route, wildlife, and weather conditions. The DC for this roll is 5.
Rank 2
You can make this check in wildly unfamiliar territory and even when lost. The DC for this check is 7.
3. Rider
Prerequisites: navigation level 3
Although most are able to use domesticated mounts for simple travel, a rider can get them to carry out special tasks. These tasks include calling them to your side, sending them away, leaping, and fetching objects.
Rank 2
You are able to make use of battle-ready mounts
Rank 3
You are able to tame your own mounts. The DC for this roll is 10. This roll can be attempted every day.
4. Pilot
Prerequisites: navigation level 3
The navigator is able to pilot airborne vehicles.
Rank 2
The navigator is able to pilot battle-ready airborne vehicles.
5. Sailor
Prerequisites: navigation level 3
The navigator is able to sail seaborne vehicles.
Rank 2
The navigator is able to sail battle-ready seaborne vehicles.
6. Driver
Prerequisites: navigation level 3
The navigator is able to drive landborne vehicles.
Rank 2
The navigator is able to drive battle-ready landborne vehicles.
7. Evasion
Prerequisites: either rider, pilot, sailor, or driver.
The navigator can use up two actions during combat to perform evasive maneuvers. The navigator then moves their mount or vehicle and rolls a d4, adding the result to their agility until their next turn.
Rank 2
The roll doubles when determining the increase to agility.
8. Steady
Prerequisites: either rider, pilot, sailor, or driver.
Take no action to move or adjust trajectory during this turn. On a successful roll, roll a d4 and add the result to any attacks made against a chosen target until you move or adjust trajectory. The accuracy bonus is not cumulative.
Rank 2
The bonus doubles.
9. Antihazard
Prerequisites: navigator level 5 and evasion
The navigator can push their vehicle or mount through hazardous terrain without suffering damage with a roll of the dice. Roll a d20 to reduce damage to a mount, and a d100 to reduce damage to a vehicle.
Rank 2
The damage negated doubles
10. Vantage
Prerequisites: navigator level 5 and steady
The navigator can use up two actions during combat to perform maneuvers to gain the advantage. The navigator moves their mount or vehicle to target a weak spot on a target and rolls a d10, adding the result to all damage rolls made against the target until the end of your next turn.
Rank 2
The roll doubles when determining your damage bonus.
11. Boarding
Prerequisites: navigator level 10 and evasion
The navigator can link their mount or vehicle with another within movement range for boarding or hijacking with a roll of the die. The DC for this roll is 6. On a successful roll, you can move adjacent to the other mount or vehicle and freely board. This roll must be reattempted every round and the attachment cannot be broken unless it is released, the roll is failed, or an attack is made against the attachment (damaging both mounts or vehicles).
12. Smashing
Prerequisites: navigator level 10 and steady.
The navigator can move to ram their mount or vehicle into an object or target to perform a basic attack. This attack applies twice the might of the mount or vehicle against the target and half that amount to you.
