PinkSpace on Patreon

You can now give me money!

The News

If you haven’t already heard from last week’s blog post, PinkSpace is now on Patreon! Holy shit!!

Joining Patreon is a small step forward for PinkSpace but also something I’m kinda super excited about! As you know my writing is already pretty open and honest, but Patreon will be the place where I can give you that extra personal touch. 💗 I’ve got a few things I want to give you in return for that support.

  1. You can follow me for FREE to get notified whenever I drop a new post on PinkSpace! Given the dismal state of social media right now, this is a pretty reliable way to let you know when there are new things to read. Following me ALSO helps get my profile in front of new people, so it’s a great way to support me on a budget.
  2. For patrons who support me at my coffee date tier, I’ll be sharing some audio read-throughs of my most popular blog posts. These will, of course, be delivered in my fruity little voice. At this tier you can also look forward to receiving regular love letters from me every few weeks, letting you know what I’ve been working on, providing some light commentary on old posts, and sharing stories from IRL.
  3. Finally, for patrons who are super generous and support me at my ____ tier, I’ll ALSO be shouting you out at the bottom of every new post for as long as your contribution is active. Seriously, I won’t be able to thank you enough for helping this little project of mine grow.

Curious to see (and hear) more??? My first love letter AND my first audio read-through are up now! There’s even a free trial if you just wanna take a peek.

I hope you enjoy~

The Goals

I have a few goals that are guiding the launch of this Patreon. For full transparency, I’m detailing these here so you know how I plan to approach the platform, including what values I’ll be holding myself to as I introduce money into this thing I love.

  1. Embrace Slow Growth

I do not project that I will have an explosive start to this Patreon, nor do I even want one! Measured, slow growth is where I am comfortable and where I thrive, and this is where I think Patreon is actually a good fit for me.

Patreon, unlike other generally cooler monetization platforms, has a large user base with strong discovery features, which will help slowly spread my stupid thoughts to new corners of the internet that I could not reach on my own. This is why regardless of any financial contributions, just following me on Patreon or sharing my work with others is a perfect way to support my work for free. The rest will follow.

Plus, Patreon is cooler with sex stuff than some of the alternatives, so I can continue being my horny self.

  1. Do Only What Comes Easy

I’m not shy about the fact that I am disabled, and my shift to an independent art practice was largely spurred on by the need to find the kind of work that worked for me. As a result, I plan to never treat Patreon contributions as a transaction. Rather, this is a place for the people who already care about my work to support the work that I do.

That being said, if you DO want to pay me to write about something specific, I encourage you to reach out to me directly at paolino (at) magnolienne (dot) com. I love a good gig.

  1. Plant the Seed, It’s Worth Something

In my post last week I talked about this idea of “planting many seeds” for the upcoming year with the knowledge that not all of them will blossom into sustainable work opportunities. This, right now, is just a seed, and I will nurture it but I will not force it to grow.

I have seen too many friends abandon their day jobs to become full-time RPG makers and either A) fail to make ends meet because RPGs are not a lucrative market, B) burn out and quit because they no longer enjoy their work, or C) hollow out every ounce of joy from the act of making something they once did for fun. I refuse to allow myself to follow that path.

I do not anticipate that I will be a full-time Patreon-funded blogger but, if I am lucky, PinkSpace can be part of a few different projects that help me piece together enough money to live. If not, I have planted other seeds; I will be okay.

Your support helps this little seed grow. Thank you for joining me, however you can, on my silly little adventures to come. 💕
